This privacy policy governs your use of the software application “SMS Annunciator” (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Graham Jones. The Application is designed to generate a continuous audible alarm if an OpenSeizureDetector SMS “Seizure Detected” Alert is received on the mobile device. The alarm will sound until accepted by the user of the device, ensuring that the user realises that a seizure alert has been received, as it can be quite easy to miss the normal SMS notification sound.
The Privacy Policy is a requirement of inclusion of the App on Google Play Store.
Contents
What information does Alarm Annunciator obtain and how is it used?
The Alarm Annunciator app receives the text of every SMS message received on the phone it is running on.
The text is scanned for a code that signifies that the message is an OpenSeizureDetector SMS Alert message.
If it is an OpenSeizureDetector Seizure Alert Message, a continuous audible alarm is started, which continues until the user accepts the alarm by pressing an on-screen button.
If the message is not a Seizure Alert Message, no further action is taken other than to display a short notification (‘toast’) window informing the user that the message was detected, but is being ignored.
Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?
No
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?
No
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop the application scanning SMS messages by switching it off using its user interface, or uninstalling the application.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
No data is retained by OpenSeizureDetector Alarm Annunciator – it is discarded once the text has been scanned to see if it is a seizure alert message.

If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at graham@openseizuredetector.org.uk. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.
