I am sure that when you installed OpenSeizureDetector from Google Play Store, you studied the Privacy Policy in great detail :).
The next major release of OpenSeizureDetector will include the ability to log data to a web server. There are two main benefits to this:
- If you need me to help understand why you are getting false alarms or failures to detect seizures, I can access your data easily to look for the problem.
- It will build up a database of accelerometer and heart rate data which (provided you mark it to say what is a genuine seizure) will allow us to develop better seizure detection algorithms and reduce the false alarm rate.
But to do this I need to change the privacy policy, because I can no longer give the easy statement of ‘I don’t collect any personal data’.
I have produced a draft update to the policy here. Changes from the previous version are highlighted in red text.
Please will you have a look at it and let me know if you think it is reasonable, or if you would like to see it changed if you were to use the WebAPI data recording system?
